JOINING T-MOBILE – HOME INTERNET FAQS

    • You can continue using your current UScellular Home Internet equipment and service as you normally do. Your existing service will continue to work as expected, and no immediate changes are required.
    • When your Home Internet account is moved to T-Mobile's system—currently expected in mid-2026—you'll receive a T-Mobile Home Internet Gateway at no cost to you. This 5G Gateway combines a modem and router into one device and converts the 5G signal into a Wi-Fi connection for your home. We'll provide clear instructions and support to help you switch to the new Gateway.
    • As part of this move, we will provide a T-Mobile Internet Gateway router at no cost to you to enable access to T-Mobile's Internet service. Communications will begin next week detailing the specific actions you need to take to ensure you receive your new router.
    • If you're interested in switching to T-Mobile Home Internet sooner, we can check availability at your address and explore available options.
    • Customers with an active UScellular voice line can take advantage of T-Mobile Home Internet today, starting at $35 with AutoPay. T-Mobile Home Internet plans include unlimited data, providing added flexibility and value.
    • Once you sign up for T-Mobile Home Internet, you'll have two separate bills, one from UScellular for your wireless service and one from T-Mobile for your new Home Internet. Each has its own billing and due date.
    • For now, UScellular wireless and T-Mobile Home Internet are managed as separate accounts, each with its own bill, due date and payment methods. Both accounts are easy to manage online or with customer care.
    • Once your UScellular wireless account moves to T-Mobile's system, we'll contact you with next steps and support details.
    • T-Mobile does not offer insurance for Home Internet devices. However, once you activate T-Mobile Home Internet and receive the T-Mobile Gateway, device issues caused by normal wear and tear, or issues that troubleshooting cannot resolve may be eligible for a device exchange at no cost to you.
    • Charges may apply if physical or liquid damage is found when your gateway is returned or if your gateway cannot be returned.

    • No, your Home Internet plan and service are only qualified for the location you enter during the eligibility check.

Internet Services and Experience

    • Your speeds can vary. It all depends on the area, coverage, where you place the device in your home, foliage, etc. So, we can't guarantee coverage or speeds. However, here are some guidelines on what to expect based on the cellular signal in your area.
      Typical Download Speed
      50-220 Mbps 5G+
      13-90 Mbps 5G
      8-35 Mbps 4G
      Typical Upload Speed
      15-50 Mbps 5G+
      4-30 Mbps 5G
      4-15 Mbps 4G
    • Placing your home internet device in a place that has the strongest cellular signal in your home will get you the best speeds. All our home internet devices come with a companion app to help you find the strongest signal. Typically, this will be on or near a window in the direction of the closest tower to your home; however, the companion apps and built in LEDs will give the best information. If the strongest signal isn't in the most convenient location for where you want to use internet, we recommend purchasing an eero Mesh Network router to spread signal evenly across your home. Consult your device's quick start guide to learn more.
    • UScellular Home Internet will support Wi-Fi and internet connectivity for all the devices you use for working, streaming, gaming, shopping, etc. Some internet services that require a fixed or static IP address are not supported. For more information, please read our Terms and Conditions for UScellular Home Internet.
    • First, make sure your device is properly located for the best signal (near a window and in the direction of the closest tower). You can find the strongest signal on the companion app that comes with all our Home Internet devices.
    • Mesh networks are a great tool to spread internet service throughout your home or business building and across floors for strong, even coverage everywhere. Performance Home Internet devices come bundled with one eero mesh router, and we recommend purchasing additional mesh routers to cover your home, one per floor or one per 1500 square feet. eero mesh networking is also compatible with our Standard offering!

SETUP AND SUPPORT

    • All our home internet devices come with a companion app to help you find the strongest signal that will get you the most out of your UScellular Home Internet. Typically, this will be on or near a window in the direction of the closest tower to your home; however, the companion apps and built in LEDs will give the best information. Please consult your device's setup guide or app for more detail.
    • For the strongest signal, we recommend placing the Performance Receiver on the outside glass of your window. It is weather rated to the IP-65 standard, does not require any screws and can be removed without tools. If this is not possible for your home, the device can be mounted on the window inside as well.
    • Your Home Internet account has a cellular number associated with it. You'll find this number either on the paperwork your sales associate gave you with your order or on your bill. Use this number when contacting Customer Service. If you can't find it, no problem. We can still help!
