What is the Trade-In Program?

At U.S. Cellular, you can trade in your old device and get up to $300 with the Trade-In Program. Visit a store and receive immediate value for your device where you can spend it on whatever you want, including using it toward a cool new phone. Plus, by participating, you'll be doing something good for the environment. * every phone that isn't refurbished will be recycled.

How does the U.S. Cellular® Trade-In Program work?

Take your device to a U.S. Cellular store to receive immediate value for your device or visit our Trade-In-Program Website to trade in your device from the comfort of your home. We will provide you with a prepaid shipping label on-screen that can be printed and attached to a box. Please clear any personal information and PIN locks from your device and package it per the shipping instructions that will be provided as part of your order confirmation.

Who is eligible to participate in this program?

All current customers, potential new customers, and non-customers are eligible to trade-in their Smartphones, basic phones or tablets via this program.

Does U.S. Cellular accept all devices from another carrier?

Yes, we accept iPhone trade-ins and any Smartphone, basic phone or tablet from other carriers.

Are broken or cosmetically flawed devices accepted?

Yes, they are accepted for normal trade-in process. Broken or cosmetically flawed Smartphones, basic phones and tablets are accepted regardless of their condition or function.

How do I know how much my phone is worth?

Find out how much your used Smartphone, basic phone or tablet is worth by visiting a participating U.S. Cellular store where you can receive immediate value for your device or visit our Trade-In Program Website. You can search for your device by name, model number, or manufacturer. Once you find your device, answer a couple of questions about its condition and get an instant quote that is good for 10 days. CExchange, a U.S. Cellular Trade-In Program partner, will verify the model, assess the condition of the device received and determine your trade-in value. In the unlikely event of a discrepancy, you will be notified via email of the issue and provided with a revised offer. If you choose not to accept the revised offer, you can request, within seven days, for the device to be returned to you at no cost.

When can I expect to receive a check payment for my trade-in?

You will receive your payment within two to four weeks of receipt of the product.

Do I need to send in the battery charger?

It is not required; however, you will likely receive a higher value for your trade-in if you send in all the components.

What if my device's value is appraised at $0?

Some device models do not have any trade-in value (most likely due to their relative age). However, CExchange will gladly recycle any devices not found in the product catalog and provide a prepaid shipping label.

Can multiple devices be traded in during the same transaction?

Yes. If you have multiple devices to trade in, they may be processed during the same transaction.

Is there anything I need to do to my device before mailing it in?

Please remove any screen locks and personal information on your device prior to mailing it in.

Is there a deadline to mail in my device once the process has started?

Yes. The package must be postmarked within seven days of the appraisal date to maintain the appraisal value quoted during the store or online transaction.
