Firmware Upgrade

New Firmware Version - 01.00.1.052
Release Date: July 26, 2021

The D-Link DWR-920V Home & Business Phone has a new firmware (FW) version available for download: 01.00.1.052. There are two important enhancements in this FW update, downloading the .052 FW update is advised.

Regardless of whether you have kept your device up to date on past FW updates, it’s important to know that FW updates to 01.00.1.052 are supported from older FW versions, including: 01.00.1.043, 01.00.1.049 and 01.00.1.051.

Below, please find instructions on how to update your device to the latest .052 FW.

NOTE 1: It is highly recommended that you frequently check via the device GUI if there are any new firmware versions available.

NOTE 2: To install the upgrade, you need to connect your computer to your D-Link Home & Business Phone and log in via the Graphical User Interface (GUI). From your computer, please follow the steps outlined below.

NOTE 3: In the event you are unable to access the DWR-920’s Web Management Screen, please refer to the addendum at the bottom of this communique.

  1. Connect the LAN port of the DWR-920V to a computer’s Ethernet port. Once connected, please launch your web browser.
  2. Once open, please enter the following address in the browser - http://192.168.0.1. You will see the following window appear.

  3. In the User Name field, please type in “admin” (no quotes) and click Sign in, there is no password required for this device unless you set one during or after initial installation.

  4. Click on System tab located on the top of next screen.

  5. Click on FW Upgrade section.

  6. On the pull-down menu, in Upgrade My Home & Business Phone, select Remote Server. Click Check Remote Server button.

  7. Important: Do Not power off your computer or Home & Business Phone during the upgrade, and do not refresh or close the browser window.

  8. The device will begin to check for newest firmware available and will begin to download the firmware.

  9. The upgrade process will start automatically and may take up to 5 minutes to complete.

    Important: Do not power off your computer or Home & Business Phone during the upgrade, and do not refresh or close the browser window.


Post Update

  • Once the firmware upgrade process has completed, log back into your device to verify that the Current Firmware Version was applied (using steps 1–5, above). The Current Version should now show 01.00.1.052.

  • Congratulations. Your device has now been updated. You may close the GUI and disconnect your computer from the device.
  • It is always a good idea to do a sanity check after a firmware upgrade. Try making a call, and try calling the device from another phone, if available. If both are successful, you should be good to go.

Addendum

  • Your computer's firewall settings may prevent you from accessing the DWR-920V's web management screen. You will need to access the web management page using Incognito or InPrivate browser window.

  1. Click the 3 vertical dots located on the far end of the address bar.
  2. Select and click New Incognito window. A new browser window will appear and continue to step 2 of above.
