This page summarizes the rights granted by the CCPA, supplements the information in U.S. Cellular’s California Rights section of the Privacy Statement, effective January 1, 2020 and applies solely to California residents.
Overview of Your Rights as a California Consumer
The CCPA provides California consumers with specific rights regarding their Personal Information. California consumers have the right to know:
- What categories of Personal Information is collected;
- The categories of sources of Personal Information collected;
- The business or commercial purposes for how your Personal Information is used; and
- The categories of third parties with whom we share or sell Personal Information.
If you are a California resident, this page provides information on how to exercise your CCPA rights. Specifically, with certain exceptions, you have the right:
- To request access to categories of or the specific pieces of your Personal Information that we have collected in the previous 12 months in a readily usable format twice in a 12 month period;
- To request deletion of your Personal Information;
- To request that we do not sell your Personal Information; and
- To be free from discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
Consumer Rights Requests
Right to Access
Under the CCPA, California consumers may request access to their CCPA PI. If you are a current California resident, you may use this resource to request access to your CCPA PI. U.S. Cellular must verify your identity and validate your request before we will fulfill it. For verified requests, we will provide you with a copy of your CCPA PI collected by U.S. Cellular within the previous 12 months. The request will be fulfilled within 45 days of submission or an extension notification will be provided.
Right to Delete
Under the CCPA, California consumers may request the erasure of their CCPA PI subject to exemptions set forth in the CCPA. If you are a current California resident, you may use this resource to request the deletion of your CCPA PI. U.S. Cellular must verify your identity and validate your request before we will fulfill it. Under certain circumstances under the CCPA, U.S. Cellular may not be required to delete your CCPA PI.
U.S. Cellular must verify your identity and validate your request before we will fulfill it. We require that you provide authentication information (e.g. Name, Account Number, PIN, Address, and Email) depending on the relationship that you have with us. You may make a verifiable request only twice within a 12-month period.
We may not provide you with your CCPA PI if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the CCPA PI relates to you. We may communicate with you should we have questions about the information that you provide or your submission request.
Making a verifiable request does not require you to create an account with us. However, for our customers with MyAccount, we recommend using this channel to submit your request as it will be considered sufficiently verified.
Notification of Extension
U.S. Cellular will make an effort to fulfill verified requests, or explain why we are denying a request in whole or in part, within 45 days of receipt. However, the period for responding to your verified request may be extended by up to 90 additional days if necessary based on the complexity and the number of requests received. If an extension is required, U.S Cellular will communicate the extension and the reason(s) for the delay, via your preferred communication channel, within 45 days of receiving the request.
U.S. Cellular will not discriminate against California consumers who exercise their CCPA rights. For more information on U.S Cellular’s California Privacy Rights practices, please see the California Privacy Rights section of Privacy Statement, effective January 1, 2020.
Submit Your Request
You may request access to or deletion of your CCPA PI through the following options:
Online: Complete and submit a Consumer Rights Request Form; this option is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, beginning January 1, 2020.
- Telephone: Call U.S. Cellular’s Consumer Rights Fulfillment team at (888) 878-1370, beginning January 1, 2020. Requests are accepted seven days a week from 7 AM to 11 PM CT.
U.S. Cellular will verify your identity and validate your request based on the information provided by you. If we have questions about your requests or require an extension to the timeline, we will communicate with you using your preferred communicating method.
We want to communicate with you in a way that is valuable to you. You may change how we communicate marketing messages to you at any time.
- Current U.S. Cellular customers may dial *611 on their U.S. Cellular handset.
- You may speak with a Customer Service representative by dialing (888) 944-9400.
- You may speak with an associate in a U.S. Cellular store.
- If you receive marketing emails from us, you may click the opt-out link in the email’s footer.

- Mail: 3 weeks
- Email: 10 business days
- Text: 2 weeks
NOTE: Even if you choose to opt-out of communications, we will continue to send you transactional information including but not limited to shipping, billing or collection notifications.

If you are a California resident and do not want U.S. Cellular to sell your CCPA PI, you can choose to opt-out or disable targeting/advertising Cookies. U.S. Cellular does not engage in any activities to sell or share your CCPA PI to third parties for valuable consideration beyond sharing Cookie data with our advertising partners.
