Stay up to date

The first step to ensuring phone security is making all OS updates when you're alerted. Here's how:


Remove malware

Apps crashing, unexplainably high data usage, battery running out way too fast? You could have malware hiding in your phone. Follow the steps below to remove suspected malware.

  • 1. Uninstall any recently installed apps.
  • 2. Update the OS to the latest version.
  • If that doesn't fix it ..
  • 3. Perform a full data backup.
  • 4. Reset the device to factory default and reinstall your apps.

Improve your overall security

1. Lock your phone with a PIN or password


2. Check application security settings

Review application settings and ensure that only the minimum permissions are enabled for the app to run


3. Back up your data regularly


4. Set up remote wipe

If your phone is lost or stolen, you may be able to protect your data by wiping it from the device


5. Do NOT respond to messages (email/SMS/MMS) from unknown senders
