Pro Football Hall of Fame Quarterback Kurt Warner to Help Identify Coaches Impacting Their Communities

CHICAGO (AUG. 22, 2017) — Today, U.S. Cellular's Most Valuable Coach program returns to honor high school coaches who lead by example, strengthen their teams and give back to their communities. The winning coach will receive a $50,000 donation to the charitable organization of their choosing or their high school athletic department, a trip to Orlando, Fla., and on-field recognition at the Under Armour High School All-America Game.

Beginning today until 11:59 a.m. CT on Sept. 11, people can visit to nominate their favorite current high school coach who is an inspiring leader not just among their players, but also in their school and city.

"Sometimes the most profound and lasting impression a high school coach can make comes from their work in their community," said Grant Leech, vice president of brand marketing at U.S. Cellular. "They are often local leaders, and we want to celebrate these coaches whose motivation and encouragement is felt by all. U.S. Cellular is honoring the coaches who go beyond the game to make a positive impact on their communities."

U.S. Cellular is teaming up with Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, Kurt Warner, to help identify the Most Valuable Coach. Warner will be part of a panel of judges who will choose the Most Valuable Coach based on leadership qualities and the positive impact they have had on their community, school and players.

"I have had the privilege of working with influential coaches who have motivated me to excel as a leader both on and off the field," said Warner. "As a current high school football coach myself, I understand the importance of leading by example and teaching our youth the value of making a positive impact beyond the game. I am honored to be working with U.S. Cellular to celebrate the impact these men and women have in their communities."

Following the nomination period on Sept. 11, U.S. Cellular will evaluate each nominee based on the positive impact they have had on their players, school and city as well as their leadership qualities. The Top 50 coaches will be announced on Sept. 19 at noon CT, which marks the beginning of public voting to select the Final 15 coaches, ending at 11:59 a.m. CT on Oct. 9.
