U.S. CELLULAR ANNOUNCES 2014 STATEWIDE INVESTMENT IN OKLAHOMA
OKLAHOMA (Feb. 17, 2015) – U.S. Cellular continued to invest in the wireless experience for its customers in 2014 with upgrades to its network and store environment throughout Oklahoma.
In an effort to provide a high-quality network that works where Oklahoma residents live, work and play, U.S. Cellular invested $47.3 million in network enhancements across the state. This was a combination of 4G LTE enhancements and upgrades to the company's existing high-speed network. U.S. Cellular invested $40.4 million in 4G LTE network enhancements for Oklahoma.
Shopping for a wireless device should be a positive experience, so U.S. Cellular also invested $585,221 in its stores across Oklahoma to be welcoming places that show off the latest devices, accessories and technology. These newly-designed stores make shopping for wireless easier, and in 2014 the company built or renovated seven of these hands-on, experiential store locations in Oklahoma including those in Broken Arrow, Ardmore, Stigler and Lawton.

In addition to infrastructure enhancements, U.S. Cellular donated $1 million to schools across the country through its Calling All Teachers program. This program provides funding for impactful classroom projects submitted by public school teachers on DonorsChoose.org. In Oklahoma, 174 teachers received a total of $80,440 in funding from U.S. Cellular for their classroom projects, and this local donation benefits more than 18,400 students.
