Company invests more than $25 million in network, stores and community support

KANSAS (Feb. 17, 2015) – U.S. Cellular continued to invest in the wireless experience for its customers in 2014 with upgrades to its network and store environment throughout Kansas.

In an effort to provide a high-quality network that works where Kansas residents live, work and play, U.S. Cellular invested $25 million in network enhancements across the state. This was a combination of 4G LTE enhancements and upgrades to the company's existing high-speed network.

Shopping for a wireless device should be a positive experience, so U.S. Cellular also invested $80,000 to redesign its Independence store to be a welcoming place that shows off the latest devices, accessories and technology and make shopping for wireless easier.

"As a national wireless carrier that covers you in your backyard and across the country, we are constantly striving to provide the best wireless experience for our customers in Kansas," said Joe Cabrera, director of sales, corporate-owned channel for U.S. Cellular in Kansas. "At U.S. Cellular, we care about our local communities, and we will continue to invest in making sure that your phone works when and where you need it – wherever you are."

In addition to infrastructure enhancements, U.S. Cellular donated $1 million to schools across the country through its Calling All Teachers program. This program provides funding for impactful classroom projects submitted by public school teachers on In Kansas, 37 teachers received a total of $23,156 in funding from U.S. Cellular for their classroom projects, and this local donation benefits more than 2,900 students.
