MILWAUKEE (June 29, 2015) – As a part of its commitment to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, U.S. Cellular will provide children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee with an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of the Summerfest grounds on Wednesday, July 1. Members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee's Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Club and First Lego League Team will have the opportunity to see the inner workings of the U.S. Cellular Connection Stage, talk with the stage manager, and learn how the technology behind the U.S. Cellular Connection Stage's text-to-screen system works.

"U.S. Cellular is excited to provide the Boys & Girls Clubs members with an inside look at the people and technology that help make Summerfest one of the world's premier music festivals," said Julie Baker, sponsorship and events manager for U.S. Cellular. "Our company is dedicated to supporting education and we hope this opportunity inspires these children to learn more about pursuing a career in STEM."

U.S. Cellular donated 400 Summerfest tickets to the Boys & Girls Clubs so that members and their families can enjoy the festival this year, and the company is also making a $5,000 donation to the organization.

"This a great way to expose our kids to different types of careers as well as STEM-related fields," said Vincent Lyles, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee. "This experience and donation will help the Clubs continue to make a positive impact on local youth."

U.S. Cellular has a longstanding commitment to the community and education. Earlier this year the company donated $50,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and an additional $105,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs throughout Wisconsin.
