U.S. CELLULAR BRINGS OKC THUNDER MASCOT, RUMBLE, TO MEMORIAL PARK BOYS & GIRLS CLUB, OCT. 15
OKLAHOMA CITY, Oct. 12, 2015 – As a part of its commitment to the community in Oklahoma and its sponsorship with the Oklahoma City Thunder, U.S. Cellular will provide youth at the Memorial Park Boys & Girls Club with an exclusive visit from the Thunder's beloved mascot, Rumble. The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. at 3535 N. Western Ave. in Oklahoma City.
In addition to a fun time with Rumble, U.S. Cellular volunteers will be on-site to host a sports clinic with the students at the club. Twenty volunteers will assist students at the basketball camp by hosting stations for passing, shooting, free throws and defense drills as well as facilitating 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games.
"This is an opportunity for U.S. Cellular to invest in the youth of our community and provide students with a healthy, fun source of exercise," said Joe Cabrera, director of sales, corporate-owned channel for U.S. Cellular in Oklahoma. "Along with the Oklahoma City Thunder, we hope this inspires children to participate in local sports and provides education on building a foundation for a healthy lifestyle."
Rumble will also join U.S. Cellular to donate $750 to the Memorial Park Boys & Girls for equipment needed for student activities. The company has a longstanding commitment to the community and education, and earlier this year, it donated $70,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs throughout Oklahoma.
