U.S. CELLULAR BUILDS NEW CELL SITE IN LA GRANDE AREA
LA GRANDE, Ore. (January 31, 2011) – U.S. Cellular continues to invest in its high-speed nationwide network with a new cell site in the La Grande area to help residents and businesses stay connected to the web, e-mail and the people who matter most to them. The new site in the Mahogany Mountain area increases U.S. Cellular's coverage and network capacity in the canyon west of La Grande to the Hilgard area. The new site also provides improved service along Interstate 84.
The network enhancement follows U.S. Cellular's launch of The Belief Project, an array of innovative initiatives that recognize customer loyalty with bundled national plans that offer customers the freedom to enjoy benefits without signing continuous contracts. The company was recently ranked No. 1 in service and named the best carrier in the country in a Consumer Reports survey of wireless customers. With "no contract after the first," new customers who complete a two-year contract will never have to sign another one and will continue to get guaranteed upgrades to the newest phones at promotional prices every 18 months. Customers get valuable rewards just for being customers and can get even faster upgrades in as little as 10 months when they use their rewards.

To select locations for new towers, U.S. Cellular has teams of system performance engineers who drive through the company's network coverage area, sometimes hundreds of miles a day, to test the signal strength and call quality.
