JOPLIN, Mo., May 27, 2011 – U.S. Cellular (NYSE: USM) is offering several resources for Joplin-area residents impacted by Sunday's tornado, including a new dialing feature to connect families and individuals with community-based organizations and relief agencies. Customers can now dial 211 at no charge for an immediate shortcut to Essential Community Services.

Customers in the Joplin area may visit U.S. Cellular agent locations at 101 North Rangeline Road, 323 South Rangeline Road or 3120 South Main Street, for assistance while the company sets up a new retail location. The company also is providing mobile charging vehicles throughout Joplin where residents can power up their cell phones and access the Internet. U.S. Cellular customers can swap out their cell phone batteries for fresh ones with the carrier's Battery Swap program.

Current mobile charging station locations include:
Missouri Southern State University, 3950 Newman Road
Wal-Mart Supercenter, 2623 W. 7th Street
Sam's Club, 3536 Hammons Boulevard

U.S. Cellular also is giving residents the opportunity to make free calls to loved ones near the Red Cross at Missouri Southern University. On behalf of its associates, U.S. Cellular and its parent company, Telephone & Data Systems, Inc., have contributed $20,000 to the American Red Cross towards disaster relief for Joplin and Southern Missouri.
