BASSETT, Va. (Dec. 24, 2010) – U.S. Cellular has strengthened its high-speed nationwide network with a new cell site West of Bassett in the Stone Sore area to help residents and businesses get connected to the web, e-mail and the people who matter most to them. The new site brings both new and improved coverage to the area. Residents should see improved coverage along route 57, in the Stone Store area, and along the eastern edge of the Phillpott Resvoir. The site is one of more than 230 towers U.S. Cellular has built across the state. The network enhancement follows U.S. Cellular's launch of The Belief Project, an array of innovative initiatives like "no contract after the first" with automatic upgrades to the newest phones at promotional prices every 18 months. Just for being a customer, U.S. Cellular gives valuable rewards to use for phone upgrades in as little as 10 months, additional lines, phones, accessories and ringtones.

"The Belief Project is about delighting our customers with services that make their lives easier and providing a reliable network they can count on is a big part of making it possible," said Dee Taylor, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in the Mid-Atlantic.

To select locations for new towers, U.S. Cellular has teams of system performance engineers who drive through the company's network coverage area, sometimes hundreds of miles a day, to test the signal strength and call quality. U.S. Cellular also listens to customer feedback to find the communities that would benefit from another tower.

With U.S. Cellular's high-speed nationwide network, websites open faster and e-mails download more quickly on the company's line of cutting-edge BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Android-powered smartphones, like the BlackBerry Bold, HTC Desire and the Samsung Mesmerize, a Galaxy S phone.

Launched Oct. 1, The Belief Project recognizes customer loyalty with national bundled rate plans that offer customers the freedom to enjoy industry-leading benefits without signing continuous contracts – like new phones at promotional prices every 18 months that can be accelerated with points.
