New Franken, Wis., August 17, 2009 – U.S. Cellular recently completed construction of an additional cell site in the New Franken area to improve call quality for its customers. The new site will increase U.S. Cellular's coverage in New Franken and the areas around Highway 54 and County Road T. "Your cell phone is your lifeline to the people who are most important to you," said Chris Rathsack, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Wisconsin. "We're here to keep you connected."

This new site is part of U.S. Cellular's recently-launched 3G Mobile Broadband network in Wisconsin, which allows customers to access data on their cell phones 10 times faster than before and at no additional cost. With 3G speeds browsing the Web on a smartphone is very similar to the experience on a desktop computer. Web pages open faster and customers can send and receive large e-mail attachments. Downloads with average speeds of 768 Kbps, take less time and picture and video messages are delivered more quickly. Uploads have an average speed of 200 Kbps. The difference is like going from dial-up to DSL on your desktop.

U.S. Cellular has a team of network engineers who drive all over the coverage area to test signal strength and call quality. The company also listens to customer feedback to determine the best locations for new cell sites.

"This part of Brown County needed additional quality wireless service. As a result, we identified the area as a priority," added Rathsack.
