KNOXVILLE, TN., July 15, 2009 – Jon Lomax has been named director of U.S. Cellular's Knoxville Customer Care Center. His responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operations of the center, which employs approximately 400 associates.

"Our commitment to providing the best customer experience is what sets us apart from other wireless carriers," said Lynn Costlow, U.S. Cellular's vice president of customer service. "Our customer care centers play a huge role in that, and Jon is a passionate leader for our associates."

Lomax has been with U.S. Cellular for more than 10 years. He began his career serving as a customer service supervisor in Knoxville and continued to grow within the company. Lomax then served as a customer service manager in Tulsa, Okla., returned to Knoxville as manager of order processing and the technical team and since December 2007 has been serving as retail area sales manager in Bloomington, Ill.

Lomax replaces Matt Sampson, who has transitioned to the director of the U.S. Cellular Customer Care Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. U.S. Cellular operates five centers, which are located in Bolingbrook, Ill.; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Tulsa, Okla.; Knoxville, Tenn.; and Waukesha, Wis. The five centers handle approximately 2 million calls each month.

Lomax received his bachelor's degree in management from Kaplan University. He will reside in Lenoir City.
