Telephone and Data Systems (TDS) was established in 1968 by LeRoy T. Carlson, an entrepreneur from Chicago. In 1983, U.S. Cellular was founded as the cellular communications division of TDS. Currently, 61 percent of customers have access to 4G LTE speeds. By the end of 2013, 87 percent of customers will have access to these speeds that are up to 10 times faster than 3G. The company offers several 4G LTE devices, including smartphones, tablets and connected devices.

U.S. Cellular's National Single Line Plans, Family Plans and Business Plans are designed to match how customers use their phones. All post-pay plans are national and are backed by our high-speed network with national coverage, and customers automatically get valuable rewards with all of these plans.
Customers on National Single Line Plans, Family Plans and Business Plans are automatically enrolled in the company’s valuable rewards program at no charge. Earn points for simply being a loyal U.S. Cellular customer, paying your bill on time and referring friends. Points can be used can be used to upgrade to the latest 4G LTE devices faster as well as accessories and ringtones. Freedom to change plans without signing a new contract
We believe customers should have the flexibility to change their plan at any time during their service agreement without signing a new contract. Customers in the middle of a two-year commitment can easily move to any post-pay plan and only need to finish the remainder of their existing term. Customers who've already completed a two-year commitment and are currently in a month-to-month state can move to any plan without signing a new contract.
11) What is U.S. Cellular's corporate social responsibility program?
U.S. Cellular believes in the power of community, and has made a commitment to invest $1 million to support students, teachers and schools this year through the Calling All Communities campaign. In 2012, the 18 schools that garnered the most community votes won a share of the $1 million prize.
