Device Protection

Don't waste hundreds of dollars to replace/repair your lost, stolen or accidentally damaged phone. Make sure you're enrolled in Device Protection, a Plan administered and provided by the Assurant Solutions companies.



What's Covered?

Your U.S. Cellular® phone, standard battery and standard charger are covered in case of theft, loss or accidental damage.

You pay $5.95 per month for the Service Contract coverage components (mechanical breakdown and accidental damage). This cost will be added to your account. In addition, you will be the Certificate holder on U.S. Cellular's Insurance Policy for lost and stolen coverage benefits, at no additional cost to you.

You can extend the same comprehensive coverage to your wireless tablet and wireless modem for an additional $5.95 a month each.

U.S. Cellular receives an administrative fee from the amount you pay each month for the Service Contract (Mechanical Breakdown and Accidental Damage coverage) components of the Program.

A free call gets you enrolled

Current Customers - To enroll, please call customer service by dialing 611 from your U.S. Cellular phone (always a free call) or our toll-free number, 1-888-944-9400. A U.S. Cellular representative will place a call to your phone to validate your service and your coverage will begin when you answer this call.

New Customers - Request to add Device Protection to your account at the time of purchase if buying in one of our store locations or by phone at 1-888-BUY-USCC. If buying on-line, make sure to add Device Protection to your order after selecting a plan and phone.

 

Easy Payments

Your monthly fee will appear on your U.S. Cellular phone bill. If you have Prepaid service, EZ-fill will need to be set up as your refill method.

You won't have extra invoices or checks to write. The non-refundable deductible for all approved claims for Wireless Tablets is $150. For devices that require a Smartphone Data Plan, Premium Mobile Internet Plan or Data Plus Plan, the non-refundable deductible is $100 for all approved claims. All other models and wireless modems are subject to a $50 non-refundable deductible for all approved claims. Prior to shipping the replacement, the deductible may be paid via credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express), electronic check or Cash on Delivery (C.O.D.). A $17 charge will apply for those who choose to pay their deductible by C.O.D.

Be assured that we will make every effort to find the exact model either new or refurbished of your original device. If one isn't available, we will replace your device with a model of similar make and quality and will inform you during the claim process if this is the case. Refurbished devices come with a 90-day warranty.

The damaged device claimed must be returned within 10 days to avoid a replacement and processing fee up to $250.
