Are you ready to say hello to a better future for
education? U.S. Cellular
® is proud to announce that
Calling All Communities (CAC) is back—and this could
be the year your school wins a share of $1 million.
From new computers and classroom supplies, to updated playground equipment and remodeled libraries, Calling All Communities can do so much for so many kids. The winning schools can use the funds any way they choose to benefit their student body.
Support for your school starts with your vote.
Visit any
U.S. Cellular store to pick up your voting card, then visit uscellular.com to vote online (only one vote per person).
The campaign runs from September 14-October 21, 2012,
and you can track your school's progress online during
the entire campaign.
When the votes are tallied, 18 schools will win a share of $1 million: the school with the most votes will be awarded $150,000 and the following 17 schools will get $50,000 each. The winners will be announced in late November.
So go out to your U.S. Cellular store today to get a unique voting code—and be sure to get family, friends and neighbors to vote too. Who knows? Your school could be a champion this year.
Here's a look at how some of last year's schools spent
their winnings:
Seymour Primary School in Tennessee needed to update their technology to support their specialized curriculum. So they used the $150,000 in prize money to add 25 new computers to the students' computer lab—they also got
12 new projectors for the classrooms.
St. Stephen the Martyr in Omaha didn't want to lose their art teacher. Thanks to the $50,000 they won from CAC,
the school was able to pay for the teacher's salary
and buy new art supplies for the students.
The Freemont Stars in North Carolina were tired of playing on old playground equipment that hadn't been updated since 1973. With their $50,000, they built a beautiful new play area that everyone in the community
now enjoys.
