Other Calling Features

Unlimited National Mobile-To-Mobile Minutes 

With Unlimited National Mobile-to-Mobile Minutes from U.S. Cellular®, you can call other U.S. Cellular customers for less. This feature is automatically included on all Plans.

Customers on older plans can include this feature by visiting a local U.S. Cellular store or by dialing 611 from a U.S. Cellular wireless phone. The monthly cost is $6 for single line plans and $10 for family plans.

Unlimited Night And Weekend Minutes Starting At 7PM 

When you make calls during these times, you won't use up any of your monthly minutes. Receive Unlimited Night and Weekend Minutes starting at 7:00 p.m. automatically on all Plans.

Customers on older plans can include this feature by visiting a local U.S. Cellular store or by dialing 611 from a U.S. Cellular wireless phone.

Caller ID 

View the name and number of the incoming call.

To block your number from appearing to the called party, dial:
*67 + 10-digit telephone number + SEND

If you have Caller ID Block permanently added to your account and want to allow your number to appear on a current call only, dial:
*82 + 10-digit telephone number + SEND

Call Forwarding 

Call Forwarding from one cell phone to another is possible, in addition to forwarding from your cell phone to a land-line. Three types of Call Forwarding are available:

  • Immediate Call Forwarding: Immediately forwards incoming calls to a specified number
  • To forward all calls to another number, without even ringing the handset, dial:
    *72 + 10-digit telephone number + SEND

    To turn off Immediate Call Forwarding, dial:
    *720 + SEND

  • Busy Call Forwarding: Forwards incoming calls to a specified number (instead of voicemail) when busy on another call
  • To forward all calls to another number when the phone is busy, dial:
    *90 + 10-digit telephone number + SEND

    To turn off Busy Call Forwarding, dial:
    *900 + SEND

  • No Answer Call Forwarding: Forwards incoming calls to a specified number (instead of voicemail), when call is not answered (usually after about 4 to 6 rings), or if the phone is not on.
  • To forward all calls to another number when the phone is not answered, dial:
    *92 + 10-digit telephone number + SEND

    To turn off No Answer Call Forwarding, dial:
    *920 + SEND

    All Call Forwarded Calls are billed at the Outgoing Minutes Rate (not Incoming Rate). If Call Forwarding is used while the cell phone is roaming, the outbound call will be charged at the roaming rate (plus any applicable long distance charges).

Call Waiting 

  • To answer an incoming call and place the current call on hold, press SEND
  • To go back and forth between calls, press SEND
  • To disconnect the current call and switch to the caller on hold, press 1 + SEND

To disable call waiting during a call (and send all incoming calls directly to voicemail), dial:
*70 + 10-digit telephone number + SEND

Three-Way Calling 

  • During conversation with current party, press SEND (A new dial tone may or may not be heard)
  • Dial third party's 10-digit telephone number and press SEND
  • Once third party answers, press SEND and all three will be connected
  • To drop third party from call and continue with original party, press SEND

Roaming Minutes 

All Plans have National coverage, meaning you never have to worry about being charged for roaming.

Current customers on older Wide Area plans have the option of purchasing a package of roaming minutes, which offers a significantly reduced per minute calling rate. The monthly cost is $10 for 100 roaming minutes. To order, please visit a local U.S. Cellular store or dial 611 from a U.S. Cellular wireless phone.
