Wireless AMBER Alerts
U.S. Cellular® has joined forces with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to offer wireless AMBER Alerts via text message, free of charge.
How Does It Work?
- Sign up to receive AMBER Alerts in your area by selecting up to five zip codes for the area(s) you are in most frequently
- When a law enforcement agency has reasonable belief that a child has been abducted and is in imminent danger, it will issue an AMBER Alert which includes the child's name and other critical information
- This information gets sent to you through U.S. Cellular as a text message
- If you have information that could be helpful in finding the child, you would call the number that appears in the AMBER Alert
