U.S. Cellular provides charging stations, wireless hotspots for Moore residents

MOORE, Okla. – U.S. Cellular (NYSE: USM) has set up two mobile charging units across the Oklahoma City metro area to provide a power source for charging wireless devices, offer phone calls and provide Internet access free of charge to individuals affected by the May 20 tornadoes in Moore, Okla.

Charging station locations include Lowe's, 1501 S. I-35 Service Road in Moore and the University of Oklahoma, 1524 Asp Ave. in Norman. The mobile charging locations will also be giving away chargers and batteries for those in need.

"Our thoughts are with those affected by the tornadoes throughout Oklahoma, and we recognize how important wireless service is during this time," said Tommy Arens, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Oklahoma. "Our top priority is making sure those affected by the storms are able to connect with loved ones via phone or Internet, and we are making that possible at these mobile charging units. We want to express our gratitude to first responders and volunteers who are continuing to assist those affected by this devastating storm."

U.S. Cellular's company-owned store at 2301 S. Interstate 35 Frontage Rd. in Moore was not damaged in the storm, and no associates or customers were injured. The store is currently closed due to poor road conditions, but there are multiple U.S. Cellular retail and agent locations in the area that are open for business and ready to help customers in any way possible. All of U.S. Cellular's cell sites in the area remain operational, but customers may have experienced minor disruption in service due to the storms. Customers with questions can call customer service by dialing *611 from their cell phone or 888-944-9400 from a landline to get the latest information about their service.

U.S. Cellular is making a donation to the Red Cross to aid in relief efforts, and the company is matching financial contributions from its associates to storm relief organizations.
