U.S. Cellular Recognized as a J.D. Power 2012 Customer Service Champion

U.S. Cellular is one of only 50 companies to receive honor in the U.S.

CHICAGO (March 15, 2012) – U.S. Cellular was recognized at the J.D. Power and Associates Customer Service Roundtable in Orlando, Fla., on March 14 as a 2012 Customer Service Champion – one of only 50 companies to have earned this distinction this year and the largest full-service wireless carrier to make the list.

To qualify for inclusion on this elite list, companies must not only excel within their own industry, but also must stand out among leading brands in 20 major industries evaluated by J.D. Power. The five factors measured included People, Presentation, Process, Product, and Price. To identify the 2012 Customer Service Champions, J.D. Power evaluated more than 800 brands. The 2012 Champions were identified based on customer feedback, opinions, and perceptions gathered from J.D. Power's syndicated research in 2011. This group of 50 represents the highest-performing U.S. companies that deliver service excellence—both within their respective industry and across all industries measured.

According to Alan D. Ferber, executive vice president and chief strategy and brand officer, "Our commitment to providing outstanding service is one of the reasons we have the happiest customers in wireless. This honor is particularly special because it's based on feedback from our customers."

U.S. Cellular was also recognized by J.D. Power as a 2011 Customer Service Champion and in 2012 received its 13th consecutive J.D. Power award for wireless quality in the North Central Region.
