U.S. CELLULAR BUILDS NEW CELL TOWER IN DEBLOIS
DEBLOIS, Maine, July 31, 2012 – U.S. Cellular (NYSE: USM) continues to invest in its high-speed nationwide network with a new cell tower in Deblois. The site will bring new coverage to the towns of Deblois and Cherryfield, improve coverage in the towns of Beddington and East Hancock, and provide continuous coverage on Route 193 through the towns of Deblois and Cherryfield. It is one of more than 350 towers U.S. Cellular has built across the state. U.S. Cellular built the new cell site in Deblois with the support of the federal Universal Service Fund, a critical resource for wireless expansion throughout rural America.
"We're committed to delivering products and services that simplify and enhance our customers' daily lives," said Jack Brundige, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in New England. "This network enhancement will help our customers stay connected to friends and family."
With U.S. Cellular's nationwide network, websites open fast and emails download quickly on the company's smartphone and mobile tablet lineup that includes the Samsung Galaxy S® III and Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 10.1.
To select locations for new towers, U.S. Cellular has teams of system performance engineers who drive through the company's network coverage area, sometimes hundreds of miles a day, to test the signal strength and call quality. U.S. Cellular also listens to customer feedback to help identify the communities that would benefit from another tower.
