U.S. CELLULAR WINS 2011 PC MAGAZINE READERS CHOICE AWARD FOR WIRELESS CARRIERS

U.S. Cellular comes out on top again in national customer survey

CHICAGO (June 22, 2011) –U.S. Cellular has won the 2011 PC Magazine Readers’ Choice Award for wireless carriers that offer a contract option for their customers. This is the second year in a row the company has received this recognition and the fourth time in five years. The award was based on more than 10,000 reader responses to PC Magazine’s annual survey.

U.S. Cellular’s scores improved in every key area and were significantly better than average on Overall Score, Coverage in Home Area, Call Quality in Home Area and Minimized Dropped Calls. It had better than average scores in Fees, Data Network Reliability and Customer Service. The company’s 8.4 out of 10 score on Customer Support, a “stellar” rating according to the magazine, is almost a full point higher than the next carrier in the survey.

The network accolades come in addition to 11 consecutive awards U.S. Cellular has received from J.D. Power and Associates for call quality in the North Central Region. U.S. Cellular’s high-speed nationwide network has the highest call quality and network satisfaction of any national carrier.

PC Magazine added new questions to the survey this year to gauge their readers’ loyalty to their wireless carriers. Eighty percent of U.S. Cellular customers said they are not planning to leave the company, the highest percentage of any carrier in the survey. U.S. Cellular customers are also the most likely to recommend the company to their friends, colleagues and family members.
