U.S. CELLULAR DONATES PHONES TO BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF KENOSHA

KENOSHA, Wis. – January 14, 2010 – The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha is starting out the New Year more connected thanks to U.S. Cellular's donation of 10 cell phones and a year of service to the organization.

"The mobile phones will make it easier and more efficient for staff to communicate with counselors, teachers, parents and youth while they are out in the community," said Kathy Cole, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club. "U.S. Cellular's support makes a positive difference in the lives of many of our most at-risk youth."

Founded in 1992, the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha serves more than 5,000 youth between the ages of 6 and 18, 58 percent of whom are from low-income households. Children and teens participate in athletic, job training, gang prevention, after-school and drop-in programs, all of which are intended to inspire youth and provide resources for them to realize their greatest potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

"The Boys & Girls Club continues to give our youth a safe place to learn and grow while having fun," said Chris Rathsack, U.S. Cellular director of sales of Wisconsin. "This donation is just one way we can support their efforts to keep the children of the Kenosha area safe and active."

Over the past year, U.S. Cellular has donated 120 phones to 11 organizations across its Central Region of Wisconsin, Iowa and Nebraska. U.S. Cellular maintains active involvement in the communities it serves, with popular outreach programs such as Calling All Communities and Calling all Teachers that directly meet the needs of young people.
