HUTCHINSON DOG PARK GOES GREENER IN CELEBRATION OF EARTH DAY WITH U.S. CELLULAR

U.S. Cellular Associates Spruce Up Canine Play Area

HUTCHINSON, Kan., April 15, 2010 – In honor of Earth Day, a group of U.S. Cellular associates helped spruce up the Hutchinson Dog Park at the Cause for Paws Animal Shelter. In a two-hour blitz, the associates planted trees, shrubs and weeded existing landscape gardens.

"As a city council member and a board member for Cause for Paws, it is gratifying to see this kind of volunteer effort," Hutchinson City Council Member Trish Rose said. "We want our dog park to continue being a beautiful part of the community, and the associates from U.S. Cellular have helped us tremendously with that."

The volunteers are a diverse group of U.S. Cellular leaders who came to Hutchinson for a regional meeting. They represent the Midwest and West regions which includes the states of Kansas, Oregon, California, Washington, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Oklahoma. Typically, this meeting is held in Chicago, St. Louis or Tulsa, Okla. This was Hutchinson's first time hosting the regional conference.

"We like to lend a hand where we can in our communities," said Dorsey Ragland, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Kansas. "It's our pleasure to help beautify a place where people come to connect with friends, animals and nature."
