U.S. CELLULAR TO HOST CAREER FAIR FOR SALES LEADERSHIP POSITIONS
RALEIGH, N.C. (April 23, 2010) – U.S. Cellular, the nation's sixth-largest wireless carrier, is hosting a Career Fair in the Raleigh area to recruit leaders for its sales team across eastern North Carolina. They are looking to hire four sales managers and three store managers.
The career fair will take place on Thursday, April 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Courtyard Marriott, 102 Edinburgh Drive South in Cary, N.C. Potential candidates will have the opportunity to talk with company hiring leaders and recruiters and learn about the company's culture.
"We have a talented workforce in North Carolina and appreciate it when companies provide rewarding careers, and not just jobs, for our residents," said Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton.
U.S. Cellular is always looking for candidates with strong customer service, sales and problem-solving skills. Prior leadership, customer and sales service experience is preferred. Store managers lead the team of store associates in the company's retail locations and sales managers direct daily activities for associates in the stores. Both roles support the associates who provide top-notch service for U.S. Cellular's customers. Salaries for sales managers start in the low $30,000s with the potential to earn more based on experience. Salaries for store managers are between $40,000 and $50,000.
"We are always looking for candidates who are passionate about serving customers," said Marcel Bekers, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in eastern North Carolina. "We believe that associates who work directly with our customers are the voice of our company and these jobs come with great pay, benefits and the potential to grow your career."
Throughout their career at the company, associates continue their professional development as they grow in the organization. This ongoing instruction and focus on promoting from within builds leaders and helps associates deliver the best customer satisfaction in the industry.
The company offers competitive salaries and great benefits, including full tuition reimbursement and a generous health insurance package.
This culture drives U.S. Cellular to be more than just a phone company. Associates give back to their communities through volunteerism and are given resources to locate, sign up for and track their volunteer projects. The company also matches associates' donations to nonprofit organizations dollar-for-dollar up to $2,500 each year. Last year U.S. Cellular associates in North Carolina volunteered 1,801 hours and since 2009 the company has contributed $449,000 to schools in North Carolina as part of its commitment to education.
